Parts
These pages set out rules for particular part families. Each rule exists because the part's land pattern, solder volume or placement decides whether it survives reflow, board flex and service, and that is not visible from the schematic.
| Note | Covers | Why it exists |
|---|---|---|
| MLCC Land Patterns and Flex Cracking | Ceramic capacitor land patterns, solder volume, flex-crack short circuits, soft-termination parts and capacitor placement | A cracked ceramic capacitor fails as a short circuit. On a supply rail that stops the instrument working. The land pattern that prevents it costs nothing. |
